The River Crouch tide tables

The River Crouch forms the southern border of South Woodham Ferrers.  It is an asset for the town terms of sailing but can also bring the threat of flooding on occasion. There has not been a major  flood in the town for decades, however, the rise and fall of the tides is carefully watched.

The town of Hullbridge lies on the opposite side of the river from South Woodham and although the tide tables refer to Hullbridge, they will also apply to South Woodham.

The Eyott Sailing Club publishes tide tables in the weekly free Focus magazine. A collection of yachts skimming about the river at high tide is a glorious sight. Many of us are familiar with the low tide version of the Crouch when mud flats are exposed and it can be a little worrying to see the river at full tide with water just a metre or so from the top of the riverbank.
