The Gardens of Remembrance in South Woodham Ferrers
The Gardens of Remembrance are situated at the northern end of Saltcoats Park with an entrance from Ferrers Road. This is where people have the ashes of their loved ones interred and labelled with a commemorative plaque.
Sweeping lawns, flower beds and a central domed obelisk add to the serenity in this place.
The internment of ashes is a service offered by the local council. There is a payment for a number of years. The gardens offer a place to come and think about the ones passed on. Benches offer somewhere to sit and think.
There are three black wrought iron benches with WWII designs and a memorial where wreaths are laid.
Parking spaces lie either side of the driveway near the wall of remembrance.
