South Woodham Ferrers flood plain
A flood plain lies on the south west side of South Woodham Ferrers where there are gates that control the flow of water from Fenn Creek. This low-lying area of rough ground has grown into a nature reserve covered by trees and shrubs. A path around the flood plain is a good place to walk dogs. There is plenty of bird song to enjoy along the way.
Willows grow in the corner beside Inchbonnie Road. The stems of pussy willow look most attractive in Easter floral arrangements.
The gates that control the flow of water from Fenn Creek lie across the road from the flood plain.
