The South Woodham Ferrers Chatty Bus is a kind of mobile youth club that can be found near the petrol station in Asda’s car park. It is open to secondary school age young people from 7.30-9.30pm on a Friday evening. Drinks and snacks are served plus there is a selection of useful information relevant to their age group.
The bus is there most half terms but not always every week during the school summer holidays. The service is run by volunteers and funded by the churches of South Woodham in conjunction with Essex County Council.
Young people tend to congregate around the bus because space inside is limited, but there is a games machine for any who would like to play a game and they also pop in and out for a hot or cold drink and something to eat.
