South Woodham Ferrers - Former Crouch Vale Garden Centre

Crouch Vale Garden Centre in Burnham Road, at the junction with Hullbridge Road, with all of its associated glasshouses was levelled in preparation for the new supermarket in 2017.

The Crouch Vale nurseries were popular in their day for good quality plants at reasonable prices.  The pre-Christmas season would see a good stock of Christmas trees for sale. The one drawback of visiting the nurseries was leaving it to join the main road because traffic would hurtle past at high speed and it was difficult to see cars approaching from the right.
