Bridge Clubs in South Woodham Ferrers

Bridge is a complex card game that requires knowledge and skill. There is not currently a bridge club in South Woodham Ferrers. The nearest are shown below:

• Woodham Ferrers Bridge Club - Please note that this particular club is in Woodham Ferrers, north of South Woodham disbanded afrer the pandemic.
• Monday afternoon Bridge for pensioners is at St. Andrews Church Hall, Bicknacre
• Great Baddow Bridge Club meets at the Lawn Tennis Club on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons between 1:30 and 4:30. Phone 01245 471315

The game is mostly taken seriously by its followers although some are more social than serious. Competitions are waged locally, county wide, nationally and internationally. Because of the prolonged training period, most bridge clubs will only accept people who know how to play well.

There are various methods of learning how to play the game:

• Join a Bridge School where experienced players are prepared to teach beginners.

One such bridge school for beginners to intermediate meets in St Andrews Church, Bicknacre,  on 2nd-4th Monday afternoons at 1pm. Members are mostly pensioners.
